Kuntao Tai Chi Chuan:
Tai Chi Chuan is one of the world’s most famous training methods, mainly for its health benefits. While most in the modern world recognize Tai Chi mainly for its meditative and relaxing exercises and the connection one gets with one’s own body from its training, it is also one of China’s most sophisticated fighting methods. Trained by soldiers in classical China for hundreds of years, it is a system that covers all aspects of the martial arts.
Legendary Grandmaster Brian Jones from Britain was one of the first Europeans to come into contact with the today exclusively rare art of Old Yang Tai Chi Chuan and has practiced it, together with myriads of other styles including different variations of Wing Tsun and several styles of Philipino Escrima for over 50 years.
Xinyi Liuhe Quan:
Xinyi Liuhe Quan is one of the oldest documented Kung-Fu styles of China and has been traced back to the 16th century. It is practiced as an internal martial art and is one of the most famous classical Chinese martial arts systems together with Tai Chi Chuan and Bagua Zhang. While it is practiced mainly for its health benefits today, it is also known as one of the most brutally efficient martial arts in China. Xinyi Liuhe Quan employs traditional, authentic training method’s that are today quite unique, with a strong focus on developing will-power and calmness.
Kung-Fu Sweden’s knowledge of this system comes from acclaimed Shanghai Grandmasters Qian “Chainsaw” Zhaohong and Gao Tie-Niao, who routinely hold full workshop weeks at the Swedish headquarters with excellent training for both beginners and advanced students.
Yin Style Bagua Zhang:
As one of the famous three internal arts of China, alongside Tai Chi Chuan and Xinyi Quan, Baguazhang is reknown for its practical exercises for health and fitness. Baguazhang is Taoist philosophy in practice and emphazises health as much as fighting ability. While it is the younger of the three major internal martial arts, it is also an art shrouded in mystery. Traditionally, Baguazhang was taught in secret to a select few, handpicked students.
Qigong and Meditation:
Qigong can be translated as “working with energy”. Through calm, relaxing exercises the inner energies of the practitioner are activated. Through Qigong training, the student learns methods for calmness, relaxation, flexibility and inner balance. Trained traditionally as a counterpart to the lifestyles of hard working people of ancient China and as a complement for high level martial arts masters, who needed a lot of energy for their daily activities, Qigong practice has countless recorded health benefits. It is used in our modern, stressful society as a way of staying healthy and focusing on the now.
Qigong is reknown today as an effective method for maintaining function and flexibility of the body and for its capabilities of easing or completely removing a wide variety of chronic pains. It is a comfortable and enjoyable practice suitable for anyone. At Kung-Fu Sweden our courses teach a variety of high standard Qigong methods together with Chinese meditation.
